Ready for Waltham Forest’s year as Borough of Culture with Walthamstuff

by Riley Ramone January 7, 2019 1 Comment

TLDR: we’ve made sharing your Ticketlab events to Walthamstuff even easier and we’ve added Instagram to the networks we auto-share Walthamstuff events with, taking the total potential audience for shared events to 14,580 people in the borough.

We’ve been doing a bit of tweaking behind the scenes here at Ticketlab as 2019 starts and our home borough of Waltham Forest takes centre stage as London’s first ever Borough of Culture.

Some of you may be aware that we run an events site for anything going on in the borough that goes by the name of Walthamstuff. It’s completely free to post any events going on (whether or not they’re ticketed via Ticketlab). Events go on the website, and get broadcast to 1,435 followers on Facebook and Twitter. We also share these events with local independent newspaper, the Waltham Forest Echo, which has a readership of around 12,500 in the borough.

Today we just added the ability to share events with images from our website directly to Instagram, which adds another 644 followers to the potential audience you can reach by sharing your event with Walthamstuff. That’s a total of local 14,580 people you can get your event in front of ABSOLUTELY FREE and with no strings attached.

In order to make it easier to get your events onto Walthamstuff, we’ve created a magic link that pre-populates the Walthamstuff submission form with your Ticketlab event details. Simply set up your event as normal, and if your event is in one of the Waltham Forest postcodes, you’ll be presented with the following message:

Simply press the big button and you’ll be redirected to the ‘add event’ form on Walthamstuff.com, which will be pre-filled with your event details.

Why would we do this? because here at Ticketlab we want your event to be a success; even if you’re not using us to sell tickets (although we hope you do!).
